December 2020: New Newsletters, COVID-19 update and the December break plans.
Dear student/parent/customer,
Welcome to the first of a new style of newsletter. Previously newsletters have been issued before the summer results are due, before the December break and at the end of the tax year. Now they will be at most monthly. COVID-19 has meant that all sessions have been conducted online. This has worked well for all students, but has resulted in less communication between myself and parents/customers. Hence, as a part of a plan to include parents/customers more, the introduction of more frequent newsletters. These will cover generic issues such as holidays plans, changes to the tutoring service and other important news.
This newsletter covers COVID-19 update and the December break plans.
COVID-19 STATEMENT
We have, since March 2020, been conducting all tuition solely online, initially via Skype and now with Zoom too. Even with the announcement this week of an approved vaccine, this is likely to continue into the medium term. I do not expect to return to visiting students in their homes until September 2021. A full statement can be found at pamt.uk/COVID-19/(now depreciated).
DECEMBER BREAK
As usual you can find my availability at www.physicsandmathstutoring.co.uk/site/availability/ (or pamt.uk/available/. More on these new shortened URL's next month). The availability page now covers the whole of the holiday period. Please get back, if you haven't already, with your plans for tuition over the holiday fortnight.
A web based version of this newsletter can be found at pamt.uk/newsletter/ and archived newsletters will be found on central, linked from your student page (If you don't have a student page and would like one then please send a message).
Please message with any questions raised due to issues from this newsletter or any other issues you may have. If you do not wish to continue to receive these newsletters then please message with your request.
I hope you all have a great break at the end of this year and that next year will be one to remember for all the right reasons.
All the best,
Michael.
